SO! I have recently stumbled upon two articles about things single people should do before they settle down, one on MSN and the other on Yahoo. What are the odds?
I have decided to comment on Yahoo's because they have 10 instead of 32.
Ready for this?
Here they are.
1. Travel alone.
I haven't done this. I want to now though, it made it on both lists. I feel as if I have been missing out on a crucial part of life! I don't know where I will go, but I think this is a worthy 23 year old goal. Before I turn 24, I will have traveled someplace by myself. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should venture?
2. Wallow in the ache of a broken heart.
I haven't done this either.... This would involve me being, in this articles opinion, dumped. I would have to be in a relationship first. We all know what a relationship loser I am.
3. Spend a weekend with a married couple your age.
This may or may not be happening soon actually. But in case those plans fall through, Jenni, let me know when the two of you have a weekend open for me to leech on.
4. Don't come home all night.
I've done this multiple times. I'd like to thank everyone who has ever helped me in this venture.
5.Stand up for a cause you care about.
Does a mission count? I would like to think it does. I should start volunteering someplace. Stand up for another cause. Perhaps I will just start recycling again.
6. Have a real adventure.
Wouldn't traveling by yourself be a real adventure? I think my year at Disney World was a real adventure. Skydiving was too.
7. Learn to take care of yourself.
I know how to cook for myself. It also mentioned sewing on buttons, and backing up hard drives. Perhaps I will sew something.
8. Buy something hugely impractical just because you love it.
This settles it. I'm buying a hammock.
9. Develop a hobby.
I am currently trying to learn how to play the guitar. Look at me, one step ahead of the game.
10. Be completely, utterly, wholly single for at least three months.
How about 23 years?
